GM PUMA
Electric car that balances on two wheels side-by-side
The GM Puma is an incredible car that balances on two wheels - not front to back, but side-by-side. It is a joint venture between General Motors and Segway who created the original parallel-wheeled scooter. This one is more sociable being a two-seater and is semi-enclosed for weather protection. It is battery powered - costing 60 cents for a full charge and has a top speed of 35 mph for city driving.
It must be the shortest car ever created - not much longer than the driver sitting in his seat, and ideal for parking in tight spaces. It can even spin 360 on the spot by turning the wheels in opposite directions - useful for Italian Job-style getaways perhaps. When the driver wants to get out, it gently falls forward onto a small wheel at the front tipping them onto their feet.

Manuel Uribe Garza from Monterrey, Mexico is one of the heaviest people in medical history reaching a peak weight of around 597kg (1316lb) - the equivalent of five baby elephants. Having lost around 250kg, nearly half his original body weight, Manuel married his longtime girlfriend Claudia Solis in October 2008 saying that he would be steering clear of the wedding cake.
