Joe Rokocoko

*

One of the best players of all.  Josevata Taliga “Joe” Rokocoko (pronounced [rokoˈðoko], born 6 June 1983 in Nadi, Fiji) is a professional New Zealand rugby union player. Rokocoko is known for his speed and strength which has accounted for his incredible try strike rate. He is a specialist left-winger but has occasionally played on the right wing for New Zealand.

Freestyle football - pure skill, control with flair

*

Strangely the simple shape of the football lends itself to amazing variety when in play.  Freestyling is a kind of hybrid of football, with something of a relation to break dancing.  A relatively recent phenomenon, it is also a means of practise when alone or just relaxing.

Maradonna - Dancing with a Ball

*

A maestro, an artist, a cheat or a genius.  Maradona questioned the limits of football so often with his play that he remains in the pre-eminent elite of football and is compared with less than half a dozen players.  He lived through football and the ball was a means of self expression.  In this first video he dances with one as he warms up prior to playing in a match for Napoli.  In Napoli, Maradona reached the peak of his professional career. He quickly became an adored star among the club’s fans, and in his time there he elevated the team to the most successful era in its history. Led by Maradona, Napoli won their only Italian Championships in 1986/87 and 1989/1990, placing second in the league twice, in 1987/88 and 1988/89. Other honors during the Maradona era at Napoli included the Coppa Italia in 1987, (second place in the Coppa Italia in 1989), the UEFA Cup in 1989 and the Italian Supercup in 1990. Maradona was the top scorer in Serie A in 1987/88.

Rugby’s Greatest Try?

*

Below is a classic and undoubtedly brilliant try from the amateur era (1973).  Then as now skill was an elusive, but priceless commodity!  The Barbarians we see here show us some masterful movement and misdirection - champagne rugby- from an amateur “corinthian” team.  The British Lions had returned home with their first ever tour win in New Zealand in the Fall of 1972. This game was supposed to be the re-match of All Blacks vs Lions of 72.

One of Brazils Greats!  Incredible or Unbelievable?

*

The touch of gold video, apparently genuine, shows skill at a remarkable level.  One might be incredulous or sceptical.  However the second video- of Andrea Pirlo- who now plays with Ronny at AC Milan, provides further evidence of the super skill sets at the very top of football.

Polar bears are shrinking, along with the ice on which they live. Scientists say the animals are now only two-thirds as big as they were thirty years ago as melting ice makes it harder for them to catch seals, and that they are turning to cannibalism as global warming increasingly stops them getting enough to eat.
